Support

Our support groups are free and open to anyone affected by mental illness. They're led by trained volunteers who bring their own lived experience, offering understanding that comes from having walked a similar path.

Led by Peers

Our support groups are facilitated by NAMI-trained volunteers with lived experience managing a mental health condition. They are experts of their own experience, though not clinicians, so our groups are a space for connection rather than clinical treatment.

A Space That Reflects You

Groups for specific populations, like our Women's, Young Adult, and LGBTQIA+ groups, are facilitated by volunteers who identify as members of that community. Our Family Support Group is facilitated by family members of someone living with a mental illness.

NAMI Dane County Support Groups are provided at no cost to participants. This reflects our mission of making mental health support accessible to everyone in Dane County and the surrounding areas.

Adult Mental Health Support Group

You are an adult living with a mental health condition and prefer to meet in-person.

Enter the lower-level door next to the parking lot, walk down the stairs, turn right, and walk straight to the room overlooking Lake Monona. Doors will be locked at 6:30 PM sharp. You are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and are living with a mental health condition. Individuals who are still questioning, or do not have specific labels for themselves are welcome. This is a gender-affirming space.

Being Together PEER Support Group

Please join us if:

You live anywhere in Wisconsin and are looking for support from others. Open to all adults with any diagnoses or mental health concerns. This group is hosted by NAMI Dane County once a month, but is a group operated through NAMI WI that is meant to support the mental health of individuals all over the state, especially if you live in a county without support group access. Also open to folks who live in Dane County.

Being Together FAMILY Support Group

of the month.

Please join us if:

You live anywhere in Wisconsin and are looking for support from others. Open to all adults with family members, significant others, and friends of people with any diagnoses or mental health concerns. This group is hosted by NAMI Fox Valley once a month, but is a group operated through NAMI WI that is meant to support family members all over the state, especially if you live in a county without support group access. Also open to folks who live in Dane County.
