Special Events and Fundraising Volunteer

Event volunteers provide assistance on the day of an event. NAMI Dane County’s largest events each year are NAMIWalks and the spring gala, though other events may be scheduled throughout the year. Development volunteers help research grant opportunities and apply for them.

Minimum Age Requirement

Applicants must be 14 years or older

Volunteer Commitment

Volunteers are scheduled on an as-needed basis. We encourage volunteers to complete at least 10–15 hours.

Program Coordinator (major event planning); Walk Manager (NAMIWalks)

Schedule

Development and Major Events Committee meets monthly

Location

Events are held throughout Madison and Dane County.

Responsibilities

  • Help with setup, takedown, registration, and tabling of activities at events.
  • Share resources at a NAMI informational table.
  • Assist with event promotion, marketing, and securing sponsors.
  • Research and apply for grants (if applicable).

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently if needed.
  • Attend the monthly Development and Major Events Committee meetings.

Registration is only required one time for all support groups.  If you've already registered previously for a group, your registration is complete for attending all support groups from NAMI Dane County.
