Strength over Silence: Stories of Courage, Culture and Community
The 2018 NAMI National Convention in New Orleans this past June offered an array of topics. Many workshops and presentations focused on minority mental health, for example—advocates and ambassadors courageously shared their unique perspectives on the challenges people of color face.
In honor of Minority Mental Health Month, we are pleased to share a 3-part docu-series called Strength over Silence: Stories of Courage, Culture and Community. This program, filmed in New Orleans, highlights three mental health champions: Lorenzo Lewis, Jasmin Pierre and NAMI Ambassador A.J. Mendez. Through candid and courageous stories of lived experience, these inspirational individuals share their journeys of resiliency and recovery.
